Call for Nominations for the Board of Directors for the Elections to be held at the Annual General Meeting on July 10, 2024, in Santiago in Chile.

As stated in GAAPP’s Constitution, each director is elected by the Annual General Meeting for a period of three years and may be re-elected for a further two periods. Two positions need to be filled – President and a Board Executive position.

The board meets monthly online and 2-3 times in person in different locations in the world.  The position description for GAAPP directors follows this call for nominations.

President

Our President, Tonya Winders, has served two terms and wishes to serve a third term. Nominations for the position of President are sought for the election to be held at the Annual General Meeting.

Roles and Responsibilities of the President

  • Responsibility for providing visionary leadership and strategic direction, ensuring the organization’s mission and goals are effectively pursued. This includes overseeing the development and implementation of policies, financial oversight, and operational efficiency.
  • Acting as the primary spokesperson, advocating for GAAAP´s interests and building relationships with stakeholders, donors, and partners.
  • Fostering a culture of integrity, monitoring organizational performance, ensuring sustainable impact and growth and leadership, especially through crises.
  • This position requires senior national and international leadership experience.
  • Adherence to the general duties of directors as stated in the position description.
  • This position holds three-year term, and may be re-elected two times.

Board of Directors Executive Position

Our esteemed Vice President, Kristine Whorlow AM, has served the maximum of three terms. Nominations for an executive position on the board of directors are sought for the election to be held at the Annual General Meeting.

  •   Adherence to the general duties of directors as stated in the position description
  • This position holds a three-year term and may be re-elected two times..

Timelines for the Nominations and Elections:

The timeline for the election process and voting are as follows:

  • 31 May to 25 June, 2024–Call for nominations for the positions of President and Vice President.
  • 25 June to 10 July, 2024–Nominated candidates published in the June newsletter.
  • 10 July, 2024–Each member organization has 1 vote. Voting will be held during the Annual General Meeting. The meeting will be hybrid so members attending online will be advised how to vote online.
  • 10 July, 2024–Elections for President and Vice President will be held at the  Annual General Meeting and successful candidates announced. This information will be published in the July newsletter.

GAAPP member organisations wishing to submit candidates for the positions of President and Vice President must submit the nominations form with an attached résumé for each candidate by 25 July, 2024. If there is any problem uploading the documents, email them to us at info@gaapp.org.
