Suggested Messaging for World Lung Day

You’re welcome to adapt this messaging to your organization’s voice and create your own captions for any other assets you share.

Today is World Lung Day!

This year, we join our partners at the Global Allergy & Airways Patient Platform under the theme "A Lifetime of Lung & Immune Health: For All."

Our lungs are organs and also a lifelong investment. From the first breath of a newborn to the golden years, every stage of life presents an opportunity to protect and strengthen our respiratory health.

Evidence shows that early-life factors—prenatal nutrition, exposure to tobacco smoke, childhood infections, and air pollution—can set the trajectory for lung function across a lifetime.

But here's the good news: we can act.

By taking action—addressing social determinants of health, supporting smoking cessation, reducing pollution, improving housing conditions, preventing infections, promoting adequate nutrition and early diagnoses—we can reduce the burden of chronic respiratory diseases for generations.

Join us as we advocate for clean air, equitable healthcare, and early intervention.
